Extraordinary Machine

July 14, 2013

Are you old enough to remember the Big Red Machine? How would you like to relive every moment from the 1975 World Series?

Are you too young to remember the Big Red Machine and have only heard stories about them? How would you like see what all of the buzz was about by seeing every single out of every single game from the 1975 World Series?

Well, you can with The Cincinnati Reds: 1975 World Series Collector’s Edition DVD Set

Here’s the best part… to commemorate over 100 Major League Baseball Productions Film & Video Archive titles now being available on iTunes, Chris Sabo’s Goggles has been handed a copy to give away to one of you.

All you have to do is correctly guess the TOTAL NUMBER OF HOME RUNS (FROM ALL ROUNDS) that the winner of Monday night’s Home Run Derby will have. To help break any ties, please also include the name of the Home Run Derby winner. This will only be used as a tie-breaker and will not count against you if you guess the correct number of home runs but not the correct player. In the event that more than one person correctly guesses the number of home runs AND the name, I’ll randomly select the winner.

All answers must be submitted by 7:00 EST on Monday, July 15 (that’s tomorrow). Any answers submitted after this deadline will not be eligible for the prize. You can submit your answers one of three ways:

  1. The comments section of this post
  2. On the Chris Sabo’s Goggles Facebook page
  3. On Chris Sabo’s Goggles’ Twitter

But please only submit your answer to one of the three options.

To help you out, here are the contestants for the 2013 Home Run Derby:

American League

  • Chris Davis
  • Robinson Cano
  • Prince Fielder

National League

  • Bryce Harper
  • David Wright
  • Michael Cuddyer
  • Pedro Alvarez

Lastly, about 5 years ago, one of the first posts I made on this silly little blog was about the aforementioned 1975 World Series. Thanks to the wonders of the internet, you can now go back and reread my 7-part series that my wife once called “pretty funny,” or experience it for the very first time:

Some of the links to the photos no longer work. You’ll survive.
