Still Fighting It
During the early innings of today’s game I was regretting* my decision to forego my work to watch the game on MLB.com (I’ve given up on ESPN’s GameCast).
* Not really
But like this team has done all season, the Reds never gave up and methodically fought their way back. Was there ever any doubt?
You bet your ass there was.
Mike Leake was a mess today. Considering what he’s accomplished so far this season I think he’s allowed one bad outing. Just one.
Nick Masset — I hear Dairy Queen is hiring. Please send in an application immediately.
Mr. Awesome (Scott Rolen) was anything but today. Fortunately Brandon Phillips (4-5, 2 RBI) and Votto/Gomes/Bruce were there to pick up the slack.
Never a dull moment with this team.
Now let’s sweep the dreaded Kansas City Royals and their stupid blue hats this weekend.
GO REDS!

So the day after Orlando Cabrera hits 3 doubles and has 4 hits he is not in the lineup. Obviously what Baker is thinking is…
Well the Reds win so Baker looks good again. Manager of the Year favorite at this point right?
“Manager of the Year” — I laughed when I read that, but honestly, he’s probably on the short list right now. Who would’ve thunk it?
