Shelter From the Storm

July 8, 2009

I’m not even close to being ready to eat some crow about Homer Bailey, but I will admit that he has pitched well the last two games.  Too bad the Reds’ _________ can’t give him anything to show for it.

On the other hand… if I knew David Weathers when I was sending out my wedding invitations, he wouldn’t get one.

Jay Bruce is getting dangerously close to hitting under .200 at the All-Star Break.  How would that sit with you, because I know I’m not too happy about it.  Can this team afford to suck even more by sending Bruce down to Louisville (Lew-ih-vul) until he works things out?

Let’s put it this way: would the Reds be any worse off without him right now?

And then there’s Edwin Encarnacion.  Boy, it’s good to have him back.

The only way the reds would be worse without Jay is his D. mostly his arm.
Surprizingly,Brook Jacoby isn’t getting more heat than he does, considering the amount D. Pole got last year.Funny how last tear the poor pitching was his fault;yet this year the improved pitching is despite Dick. guess that’s what happens when your name is Dick “Pole”

Weathers is only good when batters swing at his slider that is low and outside. If they are willing to wait for a pitch to hit they will get one or walk. He’s a bum and not an 8th inning guy, but the Reds keep paying him.

Dick Pole is one of the most unfortunate names I’ve ever heard, his parents were not thinking when they came up with that one.

Dusty is too predictable. Where there is Thunder there is Lightning…In this case every time Arthur “Thunder” Rhodes pitches David “Lightning” Weathers (it turns out this nickname is also ironic, since Weathers is anything but!) is sure to follow. I’m sick of it. David Weathers sucks! I don’t care what his ERA is, he makes me nervous watching him warm-up because you know something bad is about to happen. Arthur Rhodes is somewhat effective, but the over use of Rhodes is starting to show. When will Dusty get it through his thick skull these two are not the best pitchers in the bullpen. Add to that Dusty was stupid enough to put “Lightning” out there for two innings last night, that is shy the Phils scored off him…you see slow junk enough it doesn’t become effective anymore! Fire Dusty!
