Yer So Bad

May 24, 2009

Welcome back, Joey Votto. You stud, you.

Let it be known that Chris Sabo’s Goggles is officially washing his hands of Homer Bailey.  The guy has had numerous too many opportunities to prove himself, but has yet to convince anyone that he’s a Major League pitcher.

Six walks and six runs in 4.1 innings — against the worst team in the American League?!  Do your freaking job, you bum.

So long, Homer. I hope the Reds trade you and get something worthwhile in return because you, my friend, are useless.

Yes, useless.

Rumor has it that Miss Sabo’s Goggles will be at the Reds game this afternoon, and she’s promised to hold up a (pretty lame) It’s Probably Gonna Happen (Maybe) sign.

Marriage has its privledges: unwavering loyalty

Giving up on a 22 year old? Okay……

Would you have given up on Volquez at that age, too?

How many chances do you want to give the guy?

Cueto and Volquez are both young, and both have won a game in the last two years (and don’t appear to have any trouble adjusting to Major League hitters) — which is more than anyone can say about Homer Bailey.

If you want to keep him around for middle-relief help, I’m okay with that, but the guy will never be an effective starter. Period.

Jimmy are you Homer’s dad or something? Who could possibly still have confidence in this guy. Someone that even Dusty Baker has said has too big of an ego and is unwilling to be coached. DUSTY BAKER! The guy was overrated from the start, hasn’t proven himself yet, and continues to let down everyone that thinks he’s going to be the next “ace” of the future. The only thing he is going to be is the next Paul Wilson. A few good games, but everything else is just a let down.

First off I’m not a big Homer fan nor a detractor; put yourself in his shoes: your 18 yrs. old you are told you are the second coming, you quickly strike-out your way through the lower minors (up to AA) everything you read and hear is that you ARE a can’t miss ace. Then shortly before your first call up they tell you you need to master your other pitches;suddenly your 97 mph. fast ball isn’t good enough. Then they try to change your delivery;this confuses you; now you are un-coachable and not good enough.
Homer has become a head case, not entirely brought on by others but by himself as well.Homer needs to win again sending him to A, or AA to me is what he needs but he should have an instructor with him to keep him “on the ground” tell him what he’s doing right and show him what is wrong. Worked pretty well for Volquez.Couldn’t hurt, and don’t tell me about cost, there’s plenty invested in him already the rest of one year and net spring isn’t going to break the bank.(even Castelini”s)

Allright – if she brought the sign to the game, there should e a pic up on your site, right?
