Dear Dusty Baker,

STOP! STOP! STOP! STOP!

Love,
Chris Sabo’s Goggles

Kerry Wood is not going to sign with the Reds – trust me, he just won’t – but in the remote chance that he does sign it could turn into the 2009 version of the He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named fiasco.

The Reds already have a closer (albeit, a bum closer), and Wood is not going to accept a job as a middle reliever, so what does that mean?

Dusty Baker wants to convert Kerry Wood back to a starter.

Mark my words.

No manager in baseball would be willing to pay millions of dollars for Kerry Wood to be a starting pitcher.  No manager except Dusty Baker.

I don’t want Kerry Wood as a closer for the Cincinnati Reds.  I don’t want Kerry Wood to be a middle reliever for the Cincinnati Reds.  I don’t want Kerry Wood to be a starting pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds.

It has nothing to do with the fact that he’s a former Cubbie, either. It has to do with the fact that the the guy is a walking disabled list.  And he has a stupid goatee.

Why dont the Reds save the cash they would spend on Kerry Wood’s contract and buyout Dusty Baker’s. That way they would have a chance at winning next year.
