It’s Gonna Happen?
“The Cubs are going to win the World Series in 2008.”
Ryan Dempster – Cubs Pitcher, Former Reds Stiff, Comedian

“…they won’t win it because at the end of the day, they’re still the Chicago Cubs and they will figure out a way to screw this whole thing up.”
Marty Brennaman - Hall of Fame Broadcaster

Thank you, Marty. Everyone except the Cubbie fans knew you were right all along.
Those of you in need of Heimlich Maneuver training, please make your way to Wrigley Field. You’ll get plenty of practice there.
Best record in the National League. All for naught, Cubbies. You were just swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Los Angeles Dodgers – a team that had no business even being in the playoffs.
Nine playoff loses in a row by the mighty Cubbies. Wow! Do I even have to mention the whole 100-years thing? Opps… I just did.
You know, being a Reds fan doesn’t sound so bad right now. At least we never have delusions of grandeur.
But fear not, Cubbie fans – I hear next year is your year. Or not.
P.S. That’s what you get for listening to Ryan Dempster.

Marty is just preachin’ to the choir
I love to hate the cubs its so much fun.
Corey Patterson will not be resigned. Walt says he will let him walk. Found it MLBtraderumors.com. I hope this brightens your day like i did mine.
If the He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named rumor is true – and, boy, do I hope it is – it would be only the third time he walked all season.
Well I disagree with your opinion on the Dodgers. They are a scrappy team with solid pitching and a couple of really good young arms in the bullpen. They have owned the reds the past few seasons. Sure the NL West looks weak on paper but the Rockies made the show last year and it wouldn’t be a terrible shock if the Dodgers made it this year.
Watching the Cubs get swept was like an early Christmas present. Thanks God!
