I Had to Go See About a Girl
Where were you on September 23, 2008?
I know where I was – sitting on the couch watching “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” with my wife.
The day will go down in Cincinnati Reds history as the day the Reds first asked for (and received) a replay review of a homerun. I can imagine how exciting it must have been for Reds fans to witness this event. Especially when the umpires ruled that Joey Votto’s hit was only a single, not a homerun.
Edinson Volquez got his 17th win of the season last night. Good for him. He’s the first Reds pitcher to have 17 wins in a season since Spanky “Whirly Ball” Holiday did it in 1911.
Okay, I made that up, but it has been a while (since 1995).
Volquez is also only the 9th Reds pitcher in history to have 200+ strikeouts in a season.
Josh who?
How the Reds can have a 17-game winner and a 15-game winner and still finish 22 games out of first place is beyond me.
Oh, that’s right… David Weathers.
