Rain Delay
It’s raining in Atlanta, so I thought I’d check on my Reds. I was surprised to see they were playing a day game today. Even more surprised to see that they won.
Then I look at the box score to today’s game and see that the Reds hit seven (7) homers at Wrigley. “The wind must be blowing out,” I said to myself, but that can’t be because the Cubs only had one homer. Maybe the wind was blowing out. I don’t know, I’m on vacation. Eh, who cares? A win is a win is a win.
All I know is that the Atlanta Journal Constitution is a horrible, horrible newspaper. If it happened after 2:00 PM the day before, you’re not going to read about it in this paper.
So, in the last week the Reds swept the lowly Nationals, lost two of three to the stupid Cubbies, Arroyo got rocked (again), and our ace pitcher is down for the count. Maybe for the season. Maybe longer.
In a way, it’s nice being completely oblivious to everything in Reds Land while I’ve been on vacation (especially with a team as frustrating as the 2008 Reds), but reading headlines like “Carlos Zambrano one-hits the Reds” doesn’t sting any less when you don’t see it happen.
I’m going back to vacation world where the Reds are a good team and nothing is wrong.
Ahh…
