The Reds were a mere touchdown and two field goals away from tying up the game against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. So close, yet so far.
Bronson Arroyo was a little rusty, giving up 11 hits and 10 runs in 1.0 inning. Three of those 11 hits were homeruns, eight of those 11 hits weren’t. It’s a glass half full/half empty kind of thing.
I don’t want to sound cocky, but I’m pretty sure I could’ve pitched like that.
Fortunately for Arroyo, he always has that crappy cover band of his to fall back on. A few more pitching outings like tonight’s and he’ll have all the time in the world to practice those horrific Stained, Goo Goo Dolls and Creed songs.
May God have mercy on our souls.
