The last time the Boston Red Sox played the Cincinnati Reds in Cincinnati was 1975. Back then it was called the World Series. Today, it’s still called the World Series.
Not much has changed with these two teams since 1975 – other than the fact that Riverfront Stadium no longer exists, all of the players are different, the Reds are more of the Little Red Wagon than the Big Red Machine, the Red Sox have won a couple more World Series Championships, and Pete Rose was banned from baseball.
Other than that, it’s 1975 all over again.
For those of you that are new to Chris Sabo’s Goggles, back in March I reviewed the 1975 World Series. You see, by posting the links to something I wrote three months ago, it saves me the trouble of having to write something new. Get used to it, because if the Reds keep playing like this, I’m going to be recycling a lot of old crap.
Game 1
Game 2
Game 3
Game 4
Game 5
Game 6
Game 7 (Psst! This is the game where the Reds win it.)
